The Trustees of the Woburn Public Library are working on a campaign for the restoration and expansion of the library. In 2008, they were awarded a grant from the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners for approximately $4.7 million dollars which is a fraction of what will be needed. We need to augment that with help from the City, trust funds, and a grass roots fund raising campaign.
It isn't often that an opportunity comes along to help build something of permanent value. The Winn family understood that when they presented Woburn with their extraordinary gift - the Woburn Public Library, now a National Historic Landmark!
Renovation and expansion of this historic building is a substantial undertaking but also an incredible opportunity to leave your own impression and legacy. This effort needs the support of not only the entire community of Woburn, including individuals, businesses and foundations, but also from others who care about the architectural history of our country.
